FORT WORTH – November 11, 2005
– Regency Conversions, the nationwide leader in custom conversion vehicles,
has teamed with Remington Arms, the largest and oldest American gun manufacturer
in the United States, to produce a line of Remington Limited Edition series
pickup trucks.
In business since 1816, Remington is the market leader in domestic sporting firearms and the single most recognized hunting brand in all of the United States. As a result of the longevity of the brand, Remington has embarked, over the last several years, on a licensing strategy to sell specific products in the hunting and outdoor market.
Scott Lester, Remington license manager, explained. “One of the first products that came to mind was the pickup truck. Obviously, the pickup is directly related to hunting. We wanted to find the best supplier in the nation to make the truck, brand it the correct way, and be able to sell it in the marketplace. And hands down Regency was that company.”
Wayne Davis, president of Regency said, “Remington is a top tier company, as we are. They researched the market and decided on us. We’ve got two strong brands, Regency and Remington.”
Regency is offering the “Remington Limited Edition” through four different manufacturers: Chevrolet, GMC, Ford and Dodge. Every truck will be a four-door crew cab, available in either two or four wheel drive. No matter the brand, Regency Conversions has gone all out to create a Remington Limited Edition with a bevy of unique features sure to warm the heart of every hunting enthusiast.
On the outside, the 18” chrome plated wheels give every pickup a muscular stance. “Remington Limited Edition” logo on the tailgate, and “Remington” incorporated above each front door handle into upper body pin striping, further identifies the truck as a special edition.
Inside, seats are 100% upholstered in saddle grade leather- front, sides, back- and feature custom “baseball” stitching. In addition, head rests and console are custom embroidered with the famous Remington name. Even the steering wheel is custom two-tone leather, utilizing the saddle color. Each dash is covered in wood and set off by gunstock oak colored gauges featuring “Shotgun shell” medallions and Remington logo. Door panels continue the look of the old west with saddle colored inserts and custom “baseball” stitching.
Hunters can also order, as accessories, a Warn Winch, which attaches to the front bumper, and a “gun vault,” which lays flat in the pickup bed.
Kraig Knight, Regency’s National Sales & Marketing Director said, “I was raised in the hunting and fishing-hole lifestyle. I go home at night slapping myself that we’re working with the largest and oldest gun company in the United States. It’s incredible. Everybody at Regency is excited. I believe we’ve built a truck worthy of their legacy.”

Jon Moss Signature Edition RST Pickup
FORT WORTH – October 27, 2005 – Regency Conversions, the nationwide leader in custom conversion vehicles, has teamed with GM automotive legend Jon Moss to create the Jon Moss Signature Series RST. Moss will autograph the instrument cluster of every Signature series RST, which derives its inspiration from another classic, the 1969 Camaro Indy Pace Car.
Wayne Davis, owner and president of Regency, is not your average new car builder. Over the last 25 years, Davis has restored literally hundreds of American cars of the 1950s and 1960s. He still maintains a “hobby shop” with three employees to restore the various collector cars, which are his life and his passion. Building a new RST inspired by the styling cues of the ’69 Indy Pace Car Camaro is right up his alley, so to speak. Who else would have gone to the trouble to resurrect the correct Houndstooth fabric to recreate the ’69 seat upholstery?
Jon Moss was responsible for some of the classic American muscle cars from Detroit’s glory years. Jon’s 40-year tenure at GM began in 1963 on an Oldsmobile assembly line. After a stint in the army, he returned to GM to do chassis parts design work on the Corvair, Camaro and Caprice. In the 1990s, the 6’7” engineer became a celebrity as head of GM’s infamous “Toy Store.” As director of the special vehicles programs for all GM divisions, he spearheaded such dreams cars as the 1992 Impala SS “510,” the 1996 Chevrolet “Coolside” 1500 pickup, and the 1999 Camaro ZL1, which packed 770 horsepower into a 572-cubic-inch, all-aluminum big-block. The name Moss became a synonym for GM performance.
“We’re happy to dedicate a special edition of our RST to Jon Moss, one of the engineers who helped create many of the classic GM muscle cars we grew up with and are restoring today,” Davis said.
The Jon Moss Signature Edition is based on another Regency special, the RST, which debuted in January 2005 as part of a charity giveaway at the Barrett-Jackson classic car auction in Scottsdale, Arizona. The black-with-red-stripes RST brought $59,500, even though the retail window sticker clearly displayed $35,995.
Every RST build-up begins with a Silverado regular cab, five-speed, half-ton pickup. Regency constructs the RST to give enthusiasts a new truck with what Regency’s National Sales & Marketing Director Kraig Knight says is a “100%, all-American muscle car look.”
Chip Foose, the famous automotive designer who pens cars on the popular cable TV show “Overhaulin’”, designed the front and rear spoilers and the wheels.
Davis, who has set over 25 world records for collector cars at Barrett-Jackson, plans to give away a Moss Signature Edition RST at this year’s Barrett-Jackson collector car auction. The proceeds will benefit “Childhelp USA,” a non-profit organization dedicated to addressing the physical, emotional, educational and spiritual needs of abused and neglected children.

In 1980, Steve Kesler was a schoolteacher in northern Indiana looking for something to occupy his time during the summer months. Then, a friend made an offhand remark that changed his life. The friend mentioned that there was a growing need for professionals to design interiors for vans, and that the right person could really succeed in this business. Kesler was intrigued, so he talked his dad into joining him in this business venture. Today, Explorer Vans is one of the country's leading van converters. Located on 30 acres in Warsaw, Indiana, Explorer boasts 150,000 square feet of factory space and has 150 employees. Located in Colon, Michigan, the self-described "Magic Capital of the World," Riverside Vans opened for business more out of need than for any entrepreneurial spirit. In 1985, the local Chevrolet dealership received several new Astro Vans, but there was no one on the lot who knew how to design the interiors. Enter Riverside owner Ann Gilchrist and her team, and the rest is history.
Riverside divides its output between the commercial and the luxury van markets. The company's six-acre headquarters contains three buildings and 7,500 square feet of space. Riverside employs seven full-time workers and the company's conversion vans are primarily sold in the Midwest.

Southern Coach takes great pride in providing customer service above and beyond anything our industry has ever seen. Celebrating 25 years of service, Southern Comfort Conversions continues to set the pace as one of the leaders in the conversion van business. Established in 1979 as AAA Auto Truck and Trailer, the company originally served as a remanufacturer of van chassis for companies like Krispy Kreme and Frito Lay. By the mid-1980s, owner and founder Rod McSweeney had the foresight to recognize a unique business opportunity in the making—purchasing new vans, customizing them, and then selling the vans back to the new car dealers. Thus, the company shifted its focus and picked up a new name—Southern Comfort Conversions.
In 1988, Southern Comfort became an upfitter for the GMC division of General Motors, and soon the company was providing conversion vans to dealerships throughout the Southeastern United States, as well as selected regions in the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic and the West.

Vanworks began in 1980 in Keith Hess's garage in Ft. Collins, Colorado. Hess, a carpenter, built the van interiors one at a time. He was able to produce about one van a month on a part-time basis.
By 1983, Vanworks' growing reputation meant expansion, and the company moved to a 3,000-square-foot facility and doubled its work force (Hess hired an assistant). From these humble beginnings, Vanworks slowly began to grow and flourish, and by the early 1990s the company had so much work that it moved into the new 50,000-square-foot production space it occupies to this day.
Hess says the key to his success is quality, value and service. Vanworks uses only first-class vendors, which in turn helps generate outstanding products.
Vanworks conversion vans are sold by dealers in the Rocky Mountain region and in the Southwest.

Joe Jebailey was at a crossroads in his life. A student at the University of North Carolina in 1970, Joe was so poor he found himself one day hovering over the stove in his apartment mixing hot water and ketchup for dinner. He decided on a bold move—he sold his late-model car and bought two used cars. One of them was strictly local transportation, the other one was a junker that needed major repairs. Joe went to work on both cars, sold them, and bought a few more. Before long, he was eating steak and converting used vans into luxury vehicles. From these humble beginnings, American Luxury Coach was born. Today, the company occupies 40 acres of prime real estate in downtown Florence, South Carolina, and employs close to 60 workers. Jebailey says American Luxury Coach is third behind Regency and Southern Comfort in total conversion van sales, and its product is found primarily on the East Coast.
A pleasant postscript: Joe Jebailey says, "Every one of my competitors in the conversion van business is a friend of mine. And I couldn't be happier about it."

A & J prides itself on providing superior quality in a simple, uncomplicated fashion. With the focus on excellence in craftsmanship—inside and out—the end result is limitless comfort for the customer on life’s ribbon of highway.
A & J Vans is located in Valders, Wisconsin, about halfway between Milwaukee and Green Bay.
